What is a Professional Organizer and why should I use one?

Professional Organizers provide information, products and assistance to help clients take back control of their lives. As defined by the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals, a professional organizer should guide, encourage and educate clients about basic principles of organizing by offering support, focus and direction. As professional organizers, we provide you with ideas and develop systems to fit your individual needs and organizing challenges with the goal of both reducing your stress and increasing your productivity.

Do you charge for a consultation?

Yes, because we give you the information, ideas and product choices you will need to start the project on your own. We share our knowledge with you on our initial consultation to help you succeed if you choose to work on your own. If you would like to schedule hands-on organizing with someone on our team, we can schedule an organizing session while we are there.

How long will it take?

This depends on many factors: 1) How large is your project? 2) Will you be able to assist in the process? 3) How quickly can you make decisions on what you would like to keep and what will be removed from your space? Organization is an ongoing process, and we will teach you how to create and maintain a long-term organizational system.

Should I do anything before the initial assessment meeting with Uncluttered?

No. We can more accurately assess your needs by experiencing your space just as it is.

Will you make me get rid of all my stuff?

No! These are your things, and they are important to you. You make the decisions as to what is kept and what is discarded. Our job is to help identify things you should consider discarding, but the final decision is always yours. Once we have identified what stays and implemented your personal organizational plan, we help you find proper storage for the remaining items in a way that is not controlling your home or office.

Will you tell other people about my home?

Absolutely not. Uncluttered has a strict confidentiality policy and will not discuss your particular home with anyone outside of our staff. We do like to share successful project outcomes at speaking engagements and as part of sales presentations, but we never use client names, personal information, or photos that would identify a specific home without expressed consent.

What is the cancellation policy?

We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel within 48 hours of the appointment time, you will be charged 50% of the scheduled fee.

How much do you charge for your services?

Our fees vary based on the type of services required and the complexity of the project(s). Please contact us directly to discuss rates.

Can you help me downsize?

Yes, we can! Our assistance in downsizing is particularly helpful for those moving to a smaller home. We help you decide which items to keep and which items should go and remove them prior to your move. Removal of unwanted items at this stage can significantly reduce your moving costs by decreasing the weight and time associated with moving items you do not need.

Why should I use Uncluttered to manage my move and what will they do?

Uncluttered move management specializes in coordinating and facilitating moves. We handle logistics, downsizing, packing, and organizing, saving you time and stress. With customized solutions and a network of resources, Uncluttered promotes a smooth transition to your new home, whether you're downsizing or relocating. Attention to detail and expertise makes the moving process efficient and organized.

Do you work with seniors who are moving into assisted living or senior community?

Yes, we do. Seniors are often moving to a smaller space (requiring assistance with downsizing) and may also be doing so after having lost someone they loved. Regardless of the circumstances, these transitions are a very difficult time in anyone's life and require a gentle and loving approach. At Uncluttered, we are happy to provide the loving care needed in such situations and have successfully helped many seniors transition into their new lives and surroundings.

Can you help me get ready to sell my home?

Yes! In addition to clearing out excess clutter, we can also help you stage your furniture to make your home look larger and more attractive to prospective buyers. Once you have sold your home, we can help organize your move, coordinate movers on move day and unpack your belongings, creating long-term organizational systems for your new home as well!

Can you help clear the house of a loved one who has passed away?

We can handle all the details of clearing a home, locating missing documents, and finding lost or hidden cash/items. We take care of every step of the process, making sure the home you have been entrusted to empty is done with respect to the deceased, care and compassion to the family, and attention to detail to make sure it is completed in a timely manner.

What is a photo manager and why should I use one for my photo collection?

A photo manager is a professional who specializes in organizing, managing, and preserving your digital and physical photo collections. They bring expertise in curating and arranging your photos in a systematic and meaningful way, making it easier for you to access and enjoy your cherished memories.

In essence, a photo manager is your ally in transforming your photo chaos into an organized and enjoyable collection that truly reflects your life's story. Whether you have thousands of digital images or boxes of printed photos, a photo manager can help you navigate the world of photo organization and preservation.

Do you send out any of my photos to other companies to work on?

We handle most photo organizing tasks in-house except for VHS or camcorder video transfers and film roll processing. Those we take to local companies we have worked with for over 20 years. They are personally delivered/picked up by an Uncluttered employee to be processed by our vendors.

What form of payment does Uncluttered accept?

We accept Cash, Check, Zelle, Venmo and Credit Cards (additional 2% fee).

Can you take donations with you and what do you do with our donated items?

Uncluttered can take care of any reasonably sized donation items that fit into our vehicles at no extra cost.

When a client has items to donate, depending on what the items are we either give to Goodwill Industries, Value Village or Bella's Voice: https://bellasvoice.org/

What are your Covid guidelines?

At Uncluttered, we prioritize both your safety and ours. Our team is fully vaccinated, and we maintain a clean environment during our work in your home or workplace. We kindly request practicing social distancing when possible and provide us with an open space to minimize the risk of illness transmission. If you, your family, or any acquaintances have encountered Covid or been exposed prior to our visit, please notify us promptly so we can reschedule for a later date. Should you have any inquiries, please don't hesitate to contact us.

HEATHER L SAID:
After moving into our new house I felt so overwhelmed with the task of finding a place for everything. You came in and made it look so easy. We were able to find practical places for everything and it was easy to keep up after you left.
